Church Leaders and Sunday Servers These ministries provide opportunities to serve God in our worship as well as our church family and beyond.
CHURCH LEADERS Our church leaders consist of the Church Council as well as the Administrative Elder, Education, FCCNS, Fellowship, Finance, Mission, Property and Stewardship Boards. These men and women help to consider and discuss all matters pertaining to the administration and general welfare of the congregation as presented by the various boards and to present recommendations to the congregation.
SUNDAY SERVERS Our Sunday Servers consist of many different groups of people who provide a variety of services before, during and after our Sunday services. Our youth members help out during worship services by serving in the Nursery and, once they are confirmed, as Acolyte and Crucifer. Our adult members help before the service by serving on our Altar Guild to prepare the altar for service and communion. Some members serve directly in the service itself as Eucharist Assistants and Readers. Other adult members provide support to our worshiping members by serving as Greeters at the doors, Ushers and PowerPoint & Sound Technicians during the service, or helpers in the Nursery. We then have several teams of Offering Counters who provide their financial assistance after each service.
SERVICE TO OUR CHURCH FAMILY We have many adult members who serve as Elders and assist in all matters pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the congregation and staff. They spend many hours communicating with the members of our congregation to provide spiritual care and to help keep us all informed and connected with each other. Our Stephen Ministers have been trained in the art of being present to those who suffer and offer to be with you as you face life situations that are more than you can handle alone. Our Bulletin & Faith Notes Collators spend many hours each week putting together these vital communication and worship publications. We are also blessed with our Hospitality committee which sets up and provides food for a variety of receptions and celebrations that take place in our church and then we have the Joseph Guild and Church Beautification members make sure our building is in good repair and the grounds are well cared for.
SERVICE BEYOND OUR DOORS We are blessed to have many dedicated individuals who serve to build homes for the less fortunate in our local community through the Habitat for Humanity program and those who extend their helping hands and willing hearts well beyond our community by traveling to Mississippi as part of our Katrina Mission Team. Our Dorcas Circle provides much appreciated lap throws, walker bags, shirt savers and other items of comfort and necessity to the residents of assisted-living centers such as the Mary Cariola Children’s Center and St. John’s Home. |
